Parent Communication

1. ProgressBook. You may access your child’s progress online anytime by logging on to ProgressBook. Your username and password will be e-mailed to you in the first few weeks of school. You can see your child’s upcoming assignments and assessments under the classroom tab. You can also sign up for alerts to be sent to your e-mail for missing assignments and low assignment marks.

1. After logging on to the Parent Access, click on My Account tab in the upper right corner.

2. Click on Manage Alerts in the upper right hand corner.

3. Checkmark on the alerts you would like to have sent to you, and enter up to 4

 e-mail addresses you would like the alerts sent and click the SAVE.

4. After, you have saved, if you selected the low assignment mark alert, you will see a Change Setting are in the upper right hand corner. Click on Change Settings.

5. You can select the grade threshold for each class by using the drop down arrow. Click SAVE and you are finished.

 

2. ClassDojo. ClassDojo is a tool that helps build student's learning habits and student behavior.

Students visit www.classdojo.com/student. Either log into your existing student account OR click Sign up to create a new account. Enter your student account code. 

Parents visit www.classdojo/parent. Either log into your existing parent account OR enter your parent code to create a new account. Enter your name, email, and create a password. 

 

3. Remind101. Remind 101 is a free and safe test messaging website that takes seconds for students and parents to join a class. Teachers never see a students or parents number and students and parents never see a teachers number. It is an alert system that sends reminders to students and parents on upcoming events, assignments, assessments and projects.

  1. Text @heimann5 to (216) 592-9799 or 81010. (5th Grade-Math & Science) 
  2. Respond with your full name and you are automatically added to the class
  3. You are able to receive messages via e-mail, send e-mail to heimann5@remind.com, no subject is needed                                      

Student Communication

1. Students may also sign up for Remind101.

2. All assignments are on ProgressBook too, under the homework tab.

3. Vocabulary is the basis of most assessments. To practice vocabulary, go to http://www.quizlet.com/Heimann and search the unit you are currently learning. This site lets you make practice tests, print flashcards, and play games to learn the vocabulary.

4. I am available before and after school most days. It is best if the student lets me know if they are coming in to assure I will be available in my classroom to meet them.

Students work on assignments that are adapted to their specific level of achievement. Go to https://student.frontrowed.com/#login and enter your students name and code below.

ODE Past OAA's 

On the ODE state testing website your student can practice state standards by seeing past OAA questions. Go to http://ohio3-8.success-ode-state-oh-us.info/Profile/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fPracticeTest%2ftestworkbook.aspx%3fnav%3dstudent&nav=student  and type in your user name and all passwords are heimann. On your portfolio page complete the test assigned. Make sure to save and continue and DO NOT click finsh until your test is complete.

 

AIR Math and Science Practice Tests

Students can take Performance Based or End of the Year online practice tests by signing in as a guest to practice for the science assessment at the link below.
